My name is Ashley Ladouceur and I am the owner of Countrydox Dachshunds. We are a third-generation family business based in Simcoe County, Ontario. For over 45 years, our family has been breeding the best in pure-bred miniature dachshunds. Countrydox is continuing my nana’s breed lines and breeding her particular line of smooth and long-haired miniature dachshunds. Sharon Varty started Pawprints Mini Dachshunds in 1975 and was a top breeder in Canada for over 45 years. Sadly, my nana passed away in 2020. I chose to honour her legacy and continue on with our family tradition with my own business, Countrydox Dachshunds.
I've dedicated my life to working with animals, and that's what makes me so passionate about this field. From the SPCA to working as a groomer, and finally a career as a vet assistant. It is in my genes to love and care for animals. My goal is to ensure that every dog leaves us happy, healthy and loved.
In loving memory of Sharon Varty.
The Pawprints line of miniature dachshunds is a multi-award-winning breed line that has been one of Canada's top lines since 1975. Started by my grandmother, Sharon Varty, the line went on to be one of the most sought-after mini dachshund lines in North America. To this day, with this line and its very distinct features, people continually recognize these dogs as "Sharon's line".
Who can resist a face like that? With its affectionate and playful personality, Countrydox Dachshunds provides loving family pets. They are perfect for a family who wants a pet that loves to play. They are also adorable little snugglers and are that perfect companion. They are also great pets for those who live in apartments or homes without yards.
Our newest litter will be ready to go to their forever homes in mid-July!

The dachshund is a hound dog that was originally bred to hunt badgers. The breed's development can be traced back as far as the 15th century, but it didn't really take off until 17th-century Germany. These short-legged dogs had lots of energy and were ideal for digging through tunnels and chasing after small animals. Known affectionately as the doxie, wiener dog or hotdog, this short stature breed leaves a lasting impression. From their trademark long body with short legs, this lovable and unique breed is a favourite among dog lovers.
